A 24-year-old Indian man was recently arrested for impersonating a senior citizen and using false documents to travel to Canada, says India’s federal police organization.
On X, formerly Twitter, theCentral Industrial Security Force(CSIF) shared details of the bust. “Vigilant CISF personnel intercepted a passenger bound for Canada involved in human trafficking & impersonation,” reads the post shared on June 19. “The pax attempted to travel by impersonating an aged person and using false documents.”

The man was apprehended at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi as he attempted to board an Air Canada flight,according to NOW Toronto. He presented a passport to the authorities under the identity of a 67-year-old man named Rashvindar Singh Sahota.
“The man’s appearance, voice, and skin texture seemed significantly younger than the details provided in the passport,” a senior CISF officer is reported as saying byThe Economic Times. “Closer observation revealed that he had dyed his hair and beard white and was wearing glasses to appear older.”
Upon further questioning, the man disclosed his real identity and reportedly showed a digital copy of his authentic passport on his phone that identified him as Guru Sewak Singh, reportsThe Times of India.
The passenger was then handed over to Delhi Police pending legal action that according to the Indian Penal Code can range from fine to imprisonment.
