ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH METRO TUESDAY, MAY 21, 2002 B5 Was business executive Speckmeyer Irvin Speckmeyer, a retired business executive, died Saturday (May 18, 2002) at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield after suffering a stroke. He was 83 and a resident of St. Charles.

Mr. Speckmeyer was born in St. Louis and worked at S.M. Arnold Inc. as a brush cleaner.

The company distributes sponges, car wash mitts and other cleaning supplies for automobiles. In 1941, he joined the Army Air Corps and served as an administrative specialist and supply technician during World War II. He was stationed in Washington state and in Newark, N.J. John's Mercy Hospital in St. Louis after a four year battle against esophagus and lung cancer. He was born January 12, 1947 in Sedalia, son of John E. and Eileen M. Vannoy.

He was previously married to Marsha Mires. On November 23, 1990 he married Mary Elizabeth Goddard, who survives. He was a graduate of Benton County R-1 School, Cole Camp, MO. He was also a graduate of Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg, MO. He held sales representative positions with The Cargill Company, Mobil Oil Company and the Hoover Manufacturing Company.

He held executive positions with the Cook Paint and Varnish Company and Wasser Coatings. As the Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing at the Wasser Coatings Company located in Kent, WA he traveled extensively throughout the world: the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean Islands, South America, Australia, Tiwan, Japan and Europe. Upon being diagnosed with cancer he relinquished his Vice Presidency with Wasser Coatings and moved to St. Louis and was assigned as the Regional Sales Director of Wasser Coatings of the MidWest. He is survived by two sons, Major John M.

Vannoy of Seaside, CA and Jeffery D. Vannoy Lee's Summit, MO; two stepsons. PFC Luke D. Osborne of Harrogate, England and James Osborne of Minneapolis. MN; three grandchildren, Emily J.
